A year on the road.
In August 2025 I got on a bus to Croatia, alone. What came after, I tell episode by episode – on YouTube from 15 October.
Once around the world, told honestly.
Across the Balkans to Turkey, through Georgia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan to China and Tibet. On foot around the Annapurna, on to Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand, via Hawaii to Central and South America – and finally along the West Highland Way through Scotland. Not a glossy trip, but an honest account of what a year on the road does to you. The episodes are in German.

Hi, I'm Alex.
For years I've been travelling with a camera and a backpack – on foot from Munich to Venice, along the GR20 in Corsica, through the Picos de Europa. In August 2025 I set off alone on a trip around the world. From the fourth month on, my partner Ieva joined me for parts of the way.
When I'm not travelling, I photograph holiday homes and hotels.
Good to know.
Where can I watch the documentary?

No. Each episode stands on its own – you can start with the country or the trek that interests you. The whole story, though, unfolds from the beginning.
Who is behind casual backpacker?
Me, Alex Jund. I have been filming and photographing on trips and long-distance hikes for years. Professionally I photograph holiday homes and hotels – more at casual-photo.art.
